Chihuahuas Getting ID Pictures Taken Delights Viewers: 'So Cute'

A pet owner who documented the moment she had ID photographs taken for her dogs has delighted the internet with a video viewed 6.5 million times.

TikTok user giuliavalentina05 posted the video September 15 featuring chihuahuas Chewbecca (also known as Roberto) and Gue with the caption: "Identity theft is not a joke."

The light-hearted video features the two pups with a text overlay reading: "I realized my dogs don't have pictures on their IDs. To avoid identity theft we will take them today."

Guilia takes her dogs to the groomer where they receive a full bath, trim, and blow-dry. Ensuring both dogs look their best, the video follows Chewbecca as they head to the photographer where their pictures are taken against a white background.

Pet identification, or pet passports, are a must-have if you want to take your friend on a trip with you.

With a pet passport, your dog, cat, rabbit, or other animal can visit another country without quarantine periods. To get a pet passport in the U.S., you first need to book an appointment with a federally accredited vet.

At your pet's passport appointment, the vet will administer all required vaccinations and treatments based on the country you plan to take your pet. When they have completed a full health check and ensured all documentation is up to date, they will issue you with an official health certificate.

All animals leaving the U.S. must also send relevant paperwork to the state USDA office for endorsement before traveling. Complete pet passports can vary in price between $38 and $1,110, ranging drastically based on vet clinics, species of pet, and the country you are visiting.

"Not to be dramatic or anything but I would die for your dogs," said one delighted viewer of the viral video, while another commenter said: "They're so cute."

Not long after, Giulia shared a part-two video featuring Gue having her picture taken. With her distinctive protruding tongue, she has a little pampering before sitting front-and-center for her picture that owner Giulia later says is "perfection."

"Omg that's so cute I love her," said one commenter on the TikTok video. Another reply said: "Why is she so goofy."

Far from the only dog pictures to leave the internet in stitches, earlier this year another dog having the "time of his life" with a hilarious expression racked up thousands of views on Reddit. Meanwhile, earlier this month another dog's reaction to being left with the dog sitter had the internet howling.
